Bitget is one of the exchanges with validated automated trading on Multi Arbitrage. This guide shows the general path to open the account and get it ready for the bot, without handing over any withdrawal permission.

Before you start

Set aside a secure email address, a phone with an authenticator app and an ID document. Bitget, like other exchanges, may ask for identity verification (KYC) before enabling deposits, futures or withdrawals, and the rules change by country.

The menus mentioned here may have different names in the current version of the site, so use this text as a roadmap and check the exchange’s own screens.

Step by step

To create the account through our referral link, use the referral link in the “Open your account” box or in the “Next steps” section. The referral terms are set by the exchange.

  1. Go to the official website through the referral link and create the account with email or phone.
  2. Turn on 2FA and the anti-phishing code before depositing.
  3. Complete identity verification (KYC) if Bitget requires it for futures and withdrawals.
  4. Transfer USDT to the account’s futures wallet (sometimes you need to move it from the spot balance).
  5. Enable the margin mode you want (isolated or cross) and check the position mode.
  6. Create the API key without withdrawals, add it to the system and run the order test.

Things to watch on Bitget

  • Check the account’s position mode (one-way or hedge) in the futures account. The bot reads the account setting, but you should know which one you are using.
  • A Bitget API key requires a passphrase. Store it together with the key and the secret.
  • Choose isolated margin on the coins you will trade.
  • Start with a small amount and run the order test before turning on the bot.

Next steps

With the account ready, add the key on the dashboard and pick your coins. Also see which exchanges to combine, how to calculate the profit and the page on a crypto bot without withdrawal permission.

Common mistakes when setting up the account

  • Depositing into the spot wallet and forgetting to transfer to the futures wallet.
  • Not checking the position mode before the first test.
  • Not saving the key’s passphrase.
  • Using high leverage by default on new coins.

A safe first trade

Add the key, run the order test and make your first trade with a small amount, on a coin with good volume. Follow the opening on both exchanges, check the isolated margin and see whether the insurance orders were placed. Only then increase the amount.
